As a suggestion....you obviously were trying to save a bit of money by buying an $800 set of wheels.....so if price is a major consideration for you....you would be far better off by negotiating for a good set of used wheels with one of our Porsche forum folks either here or on Rennlist, RennTech, or Pelican. Although it's not a 100% guarantee of getting a great bargain, most guys on these forums have a reputation to uphold and don't want to see a fellow P Car comrade get hosed....they will also usually make good on any discrepancy. The peer pressure here is pretty strong.

Sorry your wheels were not what you expected, price is a consideration when buying something, but it shouldn't be the deciding factor, quality should. Perhaps your wheel guy will find the weight on the wrong spot or something easy like that. Then send him an e-mail that everyone who bids on his stuff you will e-mail about the "fine" service and product you received.

mrgroove,
To eliminate the vibration all you have to do is buying a set of hub-centric rings. Plastic or aluminum. That should take care of the problem.
Sorry, to hear you have a bad apple.
Most major brand of wheels have their products made in China. The 3-piece forged shipped back to U.S in three pieces. Here companies hire local workers to put them together and finishing touch.
