Deal sounds too good to be true..........

I think I may have finally found a 996 within my price range with low enough miles, minimal options, 6 spd manual and with a color combo that I can live with (read as black interior).

But like what mama said, if it sounds too good to be true, there's probablly something wrong with it.

Carfax is clean (good start).

Gonna check it out this week and have it PPI'd.

You know the old saying.. If it seems to good to be true, it probably means the economy is in the toilet and luxury items like sports cars are getting cheap as people are losing them to the bank!

Haha, only kidding. Check it out, shes pretty!

THIS IS AN AUCTION CAR!!!!! DO NOT PURCHASE UNLESS YOU HAVE A FRAME DAMAGE COMPANY INSPECT THIS CAR!!!!!!!!!!! and of course, the PPI.

ALL AUCTION cars have some sort of damge to them! That's why an auctioneer has them.

9 of 10, the Carfax report will not reveal this (the Dealer’s Carfax does NOT reveal this). Autocheck tells me that it is an auction car.

Be very careful with these cars, as I was involved in a car from an auction (which Carfax did not reveal) and resulted in a long, exhausting legal battle, in which I did prevail.

Tell that to my legal counsel. That came directly from my Attorney’s mouth and they've been fighting Auctioneers’ for almost 25-years!

A lot of off-lease vehicles go to auction. I know for a fact BMW Financial sends a lot of their cars through the high-line auctions.

Are all of them damaged, too?

I'm not in any mood to argue with you. JUST have the frame inspected and a FULL PPI done, prior to purchase. I was once in your shoes and your mama was right, "IT WAS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE"

I'd be pretty suspicious that a dealer would OFFER that car at that price. I agree with your mama......if you are going to consider it then, get a full dealer repair history, full PPI (full read of any overrevs & codes) and a frame check.
