My 2002 C4S is my DD. Love every minute of it!
Kids in the back, driving up from the South Bay to San Francisco, no problem!
It's our WE/family car now...

Nope, I hate those things. That's a chick car. Although you could say my a4 is a chick car as well. If I were to go sedan again, I'd just get a new a4 or a 335 sedan and mod the isht out of it. I'm looking to get into a two door car again.

Anyone here have an opinion on the 335i coupe?

LOL, yeah, I'm about 6-2 220 so I had a b**ch of a time getting in and out. The actual space inside wasn't that bad, I had alot of head room, but ingress/egress was a major PITA for me. It felt like I was crawling into and out of the car. I did like the driving position, especially when tracking the car. Driving it on the track was incredibly fun.

great thread. i just drove a base model elise and as everyone says, it did everything the S2k did except even better, but with slightly less trunk space the 996's that are in my price range (below $35k) seem to be 3.4's and from my lurking on the forums, a maintenance nightmare waiting to happen.

i find it funny how people think any n/a 911 is a torquey car... cuz it isn't... just like the s2000 you need to keep the revs up to get any real sense of speed.

your typical suv/minivan from a stoplight can easily keep up and actually accelerate smoother and with less effort than your n/a 911.

lig and a few others "get it" in this thread.

I don't get the sense the 3.4 are more trouble than the 3.6 liter cars. That being said, there are 2002 coupes that are going in the 35K range (give or take), but the coupes tend to sell pretty fast, so I'd look fairly regularly.

Like you, I test drove the Elise before giving up my S2000. It is an awesome car... my daily drive is <10 mins long so I didnt think I'd mind having less space. However, the space in the 911 is perfect and very welcome. Plus, my new B & M SSK makes it shift much more like the S
