Tonight I Started My Car And The Right Side Tail Pipe Started Smoking When It Got Hot And Smelled Like Nothing I Have Ever Smelled Coming From A Car. Almost Like A Burnt Tortilla. Car Runs Fine No Mechanical Issues. Any Clues? Thanks. Jw

 

Im not an expert or mechanic by any means, but read a post on Rennlist today on a similar topic, turned out it was a faulty AOS (air oil separator) turns out this is a common issue with our cars. Get it checked as a percaution.

 

Were you driving hard before parking the car?

 

maybe someone stuffed a tortilla in your tail pipe!

 

Ditto on the hard driving question and also did the smoking go away after a minute or two?

In Texas They Cater Food To The Guys Which Do The Construction Work And They Would Be Mexican. The Tortilla Post Still Is Revelent.

hey I have the same issue last night when I started the car inside the garage, and backing out I see a big puff of white smoke as I back up...I was like WTF?! I got out of the car, and my garage was filled with smoke and smells like something burnt. But I ran the car right after and nothing seems wrong. Weird.

 

normal for a boxer engine to do this once in awhile.

 

I agree, probably a little oil snuck past a ring and burned up and came out. I wouldn't worry about it.
