When mine when on we wired but did not start car until all is done, you might have triggered the cel if you started before wired.
so I assume you have a factory MKII lid? if wired correctly you should be able to just clear the CEL

cel...??? what does this have to do with the wing. Shouldn't the spoiler light remain on if its not working? If hes got the right harness, the light should go off.... maybe he's got an unrelated cel issue... lol

Have you posted this on Renntech? You'll get a quick answer there I bet. I think you were right that a new harness is not required, you should be able to jump some pins. Why spend $140 when not needed?
