Love Saabs. Son still has his 89 c900 250,000 miles still runs great. My other son wanted a viggen as his first car, too much power for a 16 year old though. Viggens are beautiful cars I think.

Had a 88 9000 turbo. Reliable beast, but became a problem when the odometer hit 125,000. Started to nickle and dime, breaking this and that, causing big $$$ repairs. Up till then if you could get past it's "doughty" looks it was a nice car.

A buddy of mine had one in High School, mid 80's and "fixed" it up! Yeah, he rode solo a lot back then!

I never could get past the looks of 'em, even if they were great cars to drive!

I love the 900 turbo SPG like this one. When I was in highschool my dad had a 900 turbo and it was a great car, when we finally got rid of it it had 230,000 miles. We also had a couple 80's 900s and both of them were super reliable and great for road trips. thos seats, front and rear are extremely comfortable.
If anyone remembers or ever saw the movies "If looks could kill" starring the great Richard Greiko, it had a really cool black 900 turbo spg with rockets chasing the Lotus Esprite in the movie.

there is a very strong following for these cars in the u.s., and in europe even more. its becoming difficult to restore them properly given the lack of replacement trim parts, glass, etc.

but to keep em running is really not much trouble. they are super simple to work on, the internet is loaded with info on proper repair and inexpensive shortcuts.
