997s is your best option....
the problems on the 996 are not that common... people say 99 was a bad year but I had a friend with 2001 have intermix coolant problems = new engine... my 99 c2 has 100,000 km and runs very very strong and no problems no rms... but with 60K EURO I would either get a 2004 40th anniversary (special engine in that car - option X51) or a 2005 997 S..
the 2004 996 was a good year and can be had at a good price... good luck.

I think you are right about the 997, it's more beautiful than 996, it's an evolution.
What does mean rms ? and what does mean 997 S , that "S" it's carrera S ?
Another question i have , porsche cayman have any problems with engine and oil ?

997 S - yes..."S" is Carrerra S - extra 20 HP.
I really think you should head over to a dealer and test drive them all!!

Thanks a lot guys.
But what is the difference between carrera and carrera S excepted the 20+ HP ?
Also what's the difference between the carrera vs carrera 4 or carrera S vs carrera 4s ?

Oh...I don't know...
www.porsche.com
www.google.com
www.wikipedia.org
A car magazine from the last 5 years....
I'm sorry, but this entire thread leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth. The questions are just so blatantly ignorant..."what's the difference be a C4 and a C2...which one has 4WD?" Hmm...take a guess!
A Porsche should be bought buy a successful enthusiast, not a spoiled kid who knows absolutely nothing about them...and probably not very much about cars in general...other than which brands will look "coolest" to all the kids at school.

Is not your problem what i do and what i buy.
I was read here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_997 and here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_996 and www.porsche and here http://www.porsche.com/usa/ and i continue to read this forum, and .. in those website i didn't find wich have limited slip differential. Don t understand wrong, i really read those website's, 2 3 times a day , but that's me i like to put more and more questions before buy something !

Luke - are there any dealers near where you live? Just spend a Sunday with a Porsche salesman - trust me...he will give you all the information you need. Dude...you need to test drive them before making a decision - there's a BIG difference in the drive between C2S and C4S.

I'm with Porschefan. Part of me is asking... would make us irresponsible car enthusiasts if all we do is anyone who asks to go out and buy the fastest and baddest car s/he can afford without questioning the person's skills, expectations, etc? The other part of me is say.... 1) this is not my kid and 2) this site is just one of the thousands of car forums - so, any thoughtful opinion probably won't amount to much.
So Luke, I think you should go out and buy a slightly used 997 Carrera S (more power, less weight). AWD system is heavy and will only slow you down.

I will go to my dealer and i ll put to him 101 questions and i think i chose the carrera S with rear wheel drive, because i don t like the 4wd, the consumpt is much more and the car will understeer and there's no more fun like RWD and all the rest is too expensive. The carrera S it's perfect.
Can anyone tell me please , i don t know how to say it : about the clutch how many km works ? and which are the cost ( $ ) to change it ?

Figure out what you want/need/can handle in a car before going for whatever you can afford and think is nice looking.

Just realized something.... since Euro > USD.... you can get a lot more car if you buy it in the US and ship it back to Romania. You should consider contacting one of the many tuners in the US to see if they have project cars for sale in your price range. Then, you'll truly have something unique back home.
