I love my Porsche sports pads.... kinda pricey and a bit noisy w/o the dampers though.

I used the Porsche performance pads also. I don't get any extra noise. Just get the caliper kits with new dampers and springs.
I guys who use Pagid and they like them very much. They are more expensive and tend to make more noise. Most ppl I know using them made the choice for track performance.

I have used Pagid Blue, Orange, and Yellow. I am currently using Yellow (RS19/29) as I hit the track as much as possible. Pagid Blue and Orange are like OEM and OEM sport. Pagid yellow/black are pretty much track pads. There would be no real reason to use them on the street, as the required operating temperatures might be too high for them to act properly in cold weather, or when not under heavy use. For street driving, you need a low operating temperature pad so you can do "evasive maneuvers" right out of the driveway. Track pads need time to warm up.

Personally, I would not spend the extra $ on pagids if you don't track the car. Stock pads are way more than enough - even for what most people would call "agressive street driving." IMO, spirited/agressive/hard street driving isn't even close to the track. Get OEM or equivalent. They'll be fine.

I have not noticed any difference between OE & Sport for noise or dust. Of course, I also clean the car like I have OCD....

RS29 Yellow are the cat's whiskers for track use, Oranges wear too quickly for track days, Blacks eat rotors more than I liked.

2474 front
2405 rear
Rennstore

Tried them all - 100 track events.

Have any of you used ceramic pads on your 996? I use the Akebono pads on my BMW and they are awesome and barely have any dust at all. I thought about using them on my C2, but could not find anyone using them as a reference. The Mintex pads I am using sound like bus brakes sometimes with the squeal during city or stop and go driving
