Before I hit the retail establishments I thought I would see if anyone is selling speakers for a 996.

Thanks!

not for me but I've seen one here in Dallas and wow - that's a GREAT upgrade. I am looking to just swap out the factory speakers with some nice upgrades - sorry, I should have said that earlier

Lemme know if you want to hear what a decent upgrade sounds like. I did the full Focal/Audison + woofer box from Car Audio Innovations. LowStro has the best system around if you are looking for top notch.

I'm in Dallas, but I won't disclose where LowS is He frequents 6Speed, and he might chime in.

I've got Low's number in my cell phone - his car overall is insanity.

I'm in Lakewood if you ever get close to downtown - let me know. I'm thinking of doing Focals and would love to hear them

Oh, and the rears and fronts seem simple enough but the rumor mill has the doors being a total PITA. Anyone confirm that?

I have heard the same thing about the doors. I still need to take off the panels to see what size I can really get in there.
Can anyone confirm the correct size on a 996 door speaker?

I am interested. How much and do you have pictures? Also will it fit a 2000 C2?

Thanks

You are right around the corner from me. I live next to Whiterock Lake, and work downtown.

When I did my speakers, Car Audio Innovations pre-mounted them in the doors pods, and I had a car audio shop do the official install. I'm not big into the DIY. I have the Focals in now, but took the woofer box out for my recent track day. IMO, the system is not complete without the woofers...

I am potentially interested -- do you have a pic? Is it just the box or it has the speaker installed?

Thx.

The doors are set for 5.25" subs, but limited depth. Just a little dremeling to remove some tabs is all it took to fit my Focal 5WS' ( these are no longer made, I think it is a 13KW or something now). Several members have also installed 6" in the doors, but it takes a little more modification to the enclosure in the door.

I have focal 100KP's in the dash and focal 100CA in the rear. A JL audio 6450, 6 channel amp with the standard head unit and it sounds great. Do the speakers and amp before any change of the head unit, no matter what head unit you have the stock speakers are crap and it won't sound good.

Now the sad part, my engine is shot, needs replacement, so I guess I can just sit in the garage and listen to the stereo.

Thanks for the size info and I am sorry to hear about your engine. Good luck!
