Just had my new calipers installed.
I used forum memeber Sandoval's "core swap" program. The calipers look great. His powdercoater does great work. Turn around time was quick and the porsche logos look factory. He can do them in just about any color you want. Pricing is very reasonable.
I had Chris at C2 Design in Tampa do the install. Outstanding work. This guy has quite a shop. Lots of exotics sitting around in the garage. The place is immaculate. You could eat off the floor. Chris has tons of experience in porsche, ferrari, and bmw. His speciality is custom work. If you can think of it, he can probably do it. You may have seen some of his custom carbon fiber pieces over on the turbo board. I saw a set of carbon sport seat backs that he did that looked factory. If you live in the Tampa Bay region, this is the place to get your work done.

anyway, back to the stoppers.
here's a couple before pics where i tried to do it myself with special caliper paint. they actually don't look that bad in the pics, but looked attrocious in person. night and day between DIY and the powdercoating. I guess you get what you pay for.

Porsche has performed extensive testing on braking systems. They have found that it is virtually impossible to bring a turbo powered machine to a halt unless the calipers are painted red.
Now, the testing with yellow calipers revealed that they are useless unless used as part of a ceramic braking system. So, unless these are for show only, be careful with these yellow calipers.

Andrew,
You get your car back for Bert?
How's the Reef tank??
Missed you last weekend.... You did not miss much... It was really a joke...
They send you an invite telling you that the 997 showing is from 9am-3pm... We meet, go to Craker Barrel for breakfeast and get to the dealer about 10:30. The sales mangager will not take the covers off the cars in the A/C showroom until 12.. WTF... So we have to go out in the scorching sun and humidity to a back part of their lot to get to see the 997 and 997s.....
These guys are idiots... They wonder why people go else where.

Gary:
Doesn't sound like I missed much. I ended up passing out in Orlando and woke up at noon. Needless to say, I overslept...but it was much needed.
Tank is so so. Corals don't react well to the lack of light and aeration for a day and a half. Seems to be bouncing back today. I was concerned I would lose everything.
Car is still at Bert Smith. I went to visity it today. The car is in the paint booth as we speak. Pretty crazy seeing the car all taped off. Should look really good. The body shop at Bert Smith seems to be top notch. I can't wait to get it back. My turbo rear bumper and turbo wing got delayed with the storm and the holiday. Those pieces should be in tomorrow so they can start prep and paint. I was a little nervous about the total repaint, but I saw a brand new BMW they just did and it looked better than factory. I hope to have it back by this weekend. Pics to follow. We'll have to set upa local tampa meet so I can show it off . I'll be posing big time, but I promise not to put a turbo badge on there
