i hope he gets stage 2 done without increasing the max PSI. i've done my research and it seems running 5-6PSI on NA engines is okay. if it it's like 10PSI the you'll end up like the gallardo twin turbo that blew it's engine on our last run

No you won't blow up the engine, but the effeciency will be way down at 10 psi. And personally, I would never run a compressor that was limited to it's own oil supply.

i think OEM cats are 600 cell. 400 cell won't set off a CEL.

You know that many states have federal emissions laws that require manufacturers to cover catalyst upto 80k miles like in CA.

So it might be worth an inquiry at the dealer and you could have some cats gratis from the vehicle manufacturer.

Just an FYI...

Have a Merry X mas.

What in the world are you doing to burn your cats up so quick?

Have you had them swapped since installing the SC? I was told the dealer will probably shoot me down re covering it under warranty because of the SC and other stuff.

That's good advice. I'll look into it. Unfortunately Florida probably isn't one of them as we don't even have vehicle inspections here. You should see some of the hunks of crap running around. It's worth calling though.

Where are you at in Boston? I went to NU and lived there for 5 years. I loved it there. I grew up in RI. I miss the place, but not the weather

What's up with the cats? Why are you dumping them? Are they in good shape, etc etc?

Andrew

Clean Air Act Warranty Provisions (42 U.S.C. S 7541 (C) (3) (B))

The federal Clean Air Act requires vehicle makers to provide two emissions-related warranties -- a production warranty and a performance warranty. The production warranty requires the vehicle maker to warrant that the vehicle is designed, built and equipped so that it conforms with emissions requirements at the time of sale. The performance warranty requires the vehicle maker to warrant that the vehicle will comply with applicable emissions requirements as tested under state vehicle emissions inspection programs for the warranty periods specified in the law (for model year 1995 and later vehicles, the warranty is 2 years / 24,000 miles for all emissions-related parts and 8 years / 80,000 miles for the catalytic converter, electronic emissions control unit and on-board diagnostic device). The performance warranty is conditioned on the vehicle being properly maintained and operated.

Like the Magnuson-Moss Act, vehicle manufacturers may not refuse warranty repairs under the Clean Air Acts performance and defect warranties merely because aftermarket parts have been installed on the vehicle. The only circumstance under which the vehicle manufacturer can void the emissions warranties is if an aftermarket part is responsible for (causes) the warranty claim.
