After changing my stock stereo to aftermarket, when I arm the car
#16
I did method 1.
Funny thing is that when i put everything back (with brown/blue wire hanging), I armed the car and I heard the honk. So then I figured that wire has to be grounded. I pulled everything out and grounded the brown/blue. Put everything back thinking that was the problem, but I still heard the honk after arming. Come to find out when I was detailing the car, i accidentally opened the hood.
I opened it for the 3rd time and left the Brown/Blue wire hanging. No more honking. Make sure you don't ground this wire at all.
(also note that if you have an after market radio and you got the stereo frame inside the opening, you need to remove the frame to be able to see this wire. I have a standard din stereo and i couldn't see anything, until I removed the stereo frame from the opening. Then it was obvious.
Good luck .
