As much as I love the Valentine on the highway, it is just abnoxious in town. I run it in advanced logic mode and still falses constantly. Through no fault of it's own, there are drug stores and 7-11's on every damn corner with auto doors. Not much Valentine can do about that in the basic programing. A signal is being sent and they're receiving it.

Anyway, I went to the website and printed the reprogramming instructions for customizing it.

It is so much better now.

I turned X off all together. K, Ka, and laser on the standards where I live in FL and it's mostly Ka. If I went somewhere rural I would probably turn it back on.

Anyway, I have it set to mute the K band unless it four bars or higher, or gradually going up to 6 bars. With the amazing range this thing has, it will be plenty of time. I've seen almost a mile on the highway with Ka.

I turned off K readings from the rear. 99% of the time, it's usually just a auto door as I'm pasing by.

This thing is a dream now. It almost never falses. Like I mentioned, most police agencies are running Ka and laser, so that's all I'm primarily worried about it town.

For road trips on the highway, i'll put it back up to full alert. But in town, this is the way to go.

How do you completely turn off the X-Band? I don't see it in the manual or on the website?

I have the new passport. It seems to false less than my friend's v1 and it has auto mute. This is the best feature. I don't know why one radar Co. can't come out with a detector with ALL the best features. ie the passpart needs the arrows.

Anyone ever try a combination of the V1 and a laser jammer?
