^^i learned that one the hard way. at auto when i'd finish my run and get back in line i'd throw it in N and then apply the ebrake. they said it's a no-no because i can warp my rotors. =( i think i'm probably just nuts. lol!

^^^Hey BG, whats up!
personally, I like the aerokit factory look. It may seem plain jane here, but I rarely see them with the full kit in the real world....

Come on now, we all know you did that on purpose to justify the requirement for mods.

Cheers

Sorry to hear about your roll. I frequently put mine in 1st gear w/ e-brake, cause e-brake alone isn't enough to hold it securely in my driveway (and my driveway isn't that steep). Guess I need to adjust the cable.

I kinda like the bumper below from FVD. Very unique. Go for it and let us know how the fitment is... that way if it fits good, I can buy one too. You don't mind being the guinea pig do ya?

Lol

The last thing ima do is trash my car to mod it! I really think my daughter was playing in my car cuz she was nowhere to be found when it happen! And yes i always use my ebrake but never leave it in gear! Im a mechanic and know its bad for your clutch on a steep grade! YES it hurt but i can make something good out of any situation! I did consider the aero kit only, im really inlove with the gt2 wing! But always open to good suggestions!

I really like that bumper! The whole kit really!! Just not the price! I just spent close to 4 grand on rims and tires! I would have liked to save alittte more before having to do this! And i just spend 600 on the Gemballa's! But i may have to make that effort! i really like that kit!!

And just how is keeping it in first gear bad for the clutch?

FYI, the clutch is in the EXACT same poisition and has the EXACT same pressure on it whether you are in neutral of in gear.

Its actually quite easy! If your car is on a steep slope and is prone to rolling, if you leave it in gear your giving point (weak link) is your clutch! Over long periods of time its not good! Its not goin to do any damage to do it here and there but, my country home has a steep slope! Hope I am clear! Sorry for not expaining the first time!

You state that you are a mechanic. I assume you are not an AUTO mechanic? Or at least you don't do work on drivetrains?

A person's "beliefs" often have little to do with facts and in this case, your beliefs are wrong. There is absolutely no risk of wear to the clutch when the car is parked, in gear or not.

On a side note: It is illegal in many places to park a car in neutral.

Sorry to hear about this. That sucks. Your idea of not parking is gear is not a smart one, however. The chance of an ebrake failing is much greater than the clutch/tranny failing. I dont recommend parking w./o an ebrake and only using the clutch, bc the ebrake is there for a reason, but I think the safety factor should far outweigh a suspicion that it might be bad for the clutch. Especially on any sort of hill, theres no reason NOT to take the extra precaution

btw - was your car the one for sale? i feel like ive seen a very similar looking one for sale recently

Ouch! I will admit I did the same thing 2 weeks after i bought my first 911. It rolled out of the drive and rolled into my contractors truck. $7500 damage. and that was not the only time. my 3rd porsche, well I walked out of a meeting to find police parked behind my car in the middle of the street. I did not set the parking brake and it rolled out into the street blocking the lane. no damage. but the cops thought it was a little funny.
