I can not tell you how it will sound if you keep the stock amp. I went from the stock 40w amp to a 130wpc amp. New wiring and all new speakers.
I used MTX TA7804 and 7402 Amps...
MTX TXC4.1 Dash
MTX TXC5.1 Rear
Focal 13ks Doors

Hey asialors996, I have the hi-fi option. Do the door speaker pods need to be sealed in order to have good sound out of a set of coaxials? The current speaker pods are vented for the factory 5 1/4, correct?

The doors hold 5.25 inch speakers...you want them to be sealed to get the bass...I would reccoment the 13ks subs in the doors and components in the dash and rear
The 13ks subs in the doors hit superhard.

I have a pair of Audio Innovations 8" earthquakes in custom fiberglass enclosure behind the seats. Rod suggests going 3-way or 2-way in the doors and same in dash. Local shop in Kansas City is suggesting coax in doors and coax in dash (entry-level JL Audio speakers). Your thoughts? -- Hope I'm not hijacking this thread...

i would not waste the doors on a coax or even componnents...they are meant for bass....i would suggest just a sub....if you put full range speakers down there it will pull the audio down...the car is setup so that the image is at the occupients head level...putting full range that low in my opinion would be bad

I listened to the focal and was not impressed for the money that one has to spend. At around the same price I found the Morel HybridOvation4 to be mush clearer speakers. A little harder to find (fewer disturbers) but sound great
