First porsche

hi all you porscheheads. Just bought my first pcar,996 tipt, cabrio, 36k miles, garage queen. It truly is a wonderful machine. hard to believe you can buy this much technology for so little now, Its a 1999. As a retired Honda tech I do appriciate the engeneering. I am concerned about engine relability though, fortunately my 996 was maintained very well. If any advice let me know, thanks

Welcome! , now get out and enjoy it. I also have a 1999 and hear the constant issues of the 3.4 motor. To date no problems at 60,000 +miles.

The only advice I have is get pics up pronto and drive it like you stole it. Maybe put some money away in the "kitty" if it explodes... but there's not much that you can do to prevent it, so sell the car, or enjoy it.

Welcome.
