Which Radar dector do you guys use?

When your V1 goes off do you first A) acertain the location, numbers and or vectors of interception of the bogeys or B) immedietly start scrubbing off that pesky and expensive excessive MPH. For me it's situatuation awareness.....I go with the flow of traffic but constantly on high alert for anything out of the ordinary. when a curve or some twisties make their presence kown , then I "Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war." And me, I'm old school, Kimber ultra carry in a Galco fletch holster as my DD.

Same here, car came with it installed (front coverage only). Works okay I suppose. No problems for the first 1 1/2 years, but 2 tickets in the last 6 months from "instant on" radar!

Very good point! when the detector goes off the foot comes off the pedal first! Do I immediately find out where the cop is and then start to speed again? NO, I relax for a bit and make sure I am safe.
Instant on and your F$#ked, laser the same so at least with a shifter you have got a 50/50 chance.
I still think that of the two the 9500 in a daily driver is the best. If I was road tripping and had to make time I like the V1 since then I do know if a cop is coming up from the rear or out in front. The only time this really helps is when you are on open highways and the signal keeps comming so you know he is out in front or behind going the same direction as you.
But in reality it does not really matter cause you have to slow down anyway.

Maybe I'm mistaken but if you wanted the best results, wouldn't this be the best?
Buy the V1, custom install or standard. Then add an aftermaket jammer to the system. If the V1 is standard install then total cost should be close to a custom install of the Escort 9500.
Is this too simple or is this the best solution?
??????????????
I'm trying to decide which to buy.
Thanks

9500 xi with shifters and a good eye and knowledge of you local area is hands down the best system in a daily driver.
Trust me I have a V1 too, it works great but the intergration and ease of use just cant be beat.

This would indeed be the very best solution, because you could pick the RD that is best for you and then pick the best laser jammer on the market today (there is only one best jammer).
#56
and what's the best jammer? Just to be clear.

The Laser Interceptor is the best laser jammer hands down.

So no one else has a K40 Calibre? I have one with front and rear radar detection and front laser jamming in my wife's car. The whole thing is very stealth and user-friendly. Two tiny blue lights inside the dash let you know where the radar is located, and the sound indicates the direction and type of radar. The unit is controlled via a wireless remote control the size of a matchbook that you can store anywhere in the car. While the V1 is a great unit, what I like about the K40 is that it's totally hidden from cops and potential thieves, so you never leave home without it.
