Front bumper is irrelevant to wide body or not. You can easily swap bumpers from one (wide body) to other. The only issue will be the bottom attachment part.
This is my car, a 2002 carrera c2 with a OEM Turbo bumper:

fitment n the sides is perfect/

Search for 40th anniversary and you'll find lots of pictures.

I have the Turbo bumper on mine as well. No issues with fitment.
On the MK2 only the rear is wider on the Turbo and C4S. I also have a modified Turbo rear bumper waiting for install.

the only problem is that bottom of the turbo bumper will not reach your narrow body chassis. so, you'll need some zip tie to connect the bottom of bumper to the car. also, there will be some gap with open space so i'd look into a plastic sheet to cover it up.

Are you referring to the front or rear bumper? The front bumper is a direct bolt on with no gaps or fitment problems. The rear bumper cover need to be modified and a custom L bracket installed behind the wheel well to make it fit properly.

Well, the bottom part of the front Turbo bumper will not reach the attachment points on the frame of the car.
You have 3 options:
Use perforated metal strip to reach each tab
Use tie-strips

or what I did: cut the bottom part of your old bumper and attach that to the Turbo bumper. That way the points will be supported

unless you use the 40th anniversary bumper, which I guess it has the built in plastic bracket...

What year is your 996? I did not have any of these issues.

2002 996 C2...
Now, did you use an "OEM" front Turbo bumper? or maybe you used a 40th ann. front bumper?
Maybe you have an aftermarket poly front bumper that won't have these issues...
Do you have a pic of the bottom part? (like mine) so I can see how is attached?

It is an OEM bumper that was bought on ebay. It was advertised as a Turbo bumper but it may be a 40th anniversary. I was not aware that there was any difference between the 2 so I never checked. I do not have any pictures of the bottom part. I will take a look when I get home this evening to see if the body shop rigged up any straps. This is the first time I have heard of any issue installing a Turbo bumper on a MKII 996.

Has anybody else had this issue?

I'm by no means an expert at reading the Porsche parts list but the part number for the C4S and Turbo front bumper lining is the same (996 505 311 05). The spoilers have different part numbers. The 40th Anniversary is the same as the C4S.

I think they sell a black plastic part that goes underneath of the bumper for the 40th ann. but is really expensive...
Just check and let us know... I did a lot of research before doing this mod and every single post here had that issue. Your body shop guys probable fixed that for you!
