997 short is supposed to be "notchier" from what i have read. i never wish my 997 shifter had shorter throws and is smooth. for the price and performance, you can't go wrong. if short throws are what you need, the oem short shifter is probably better than aftermarket mods, but probably won't be as smooth as the standard. 997 is much better than the 996 and is plug and play. i have great step by step instructions with pix in pdf format i can email anyone who needs for install. just pm me

I have a 996 ssk from porsche. I have issue with getting it in reverse sometimes. Will the 997 ssk resolve this?

^It looks like you just need to realign your shifter. In which if you buy the 997 kit it comes with the alignment tool. So yeah I guess it'll resolve your issue but you can probably just get the alignment tool separately from Suncoast.

Yo fallas

got me today a new 997 shift console on ebay germany for 14,50 Euro. Thats about 12 US$ :-)
Well i think thats one of my best invenst the last years on ebay !!

Good thing was for me that most of the 996 drivers in germany dont know about that modification for a 996. Bad for them good for me cause iam here on 6speed everyday

Greetings

Z
