NB wheel experts, need help
Okay, I'm considering getting new rims for the ride and want to step up to 19" x 11"s rear so I can use my 18's as track wheels. Been doing research but am confused to what rear offsets work for the narrow body cars??? Can anyone shed light on this? I've seen wheel manufacturer claims of 52mm to 68mm for NB cars. Granted, that 16mm difference is a 1/2 inch basically, so is that enough to not fit these cars??? Sorry in advance if the wording is confusing too!

these are nice specs for 19x11, they are essentially gt3 specs but with 19"... the diameter with 19" tires should not change.
19x8.5 Front ET40
19x11 Rear ET63
19x8.5 Front ET40
19x11 Rear ET63

Would those specs put the rears "flush" with the fender and have that desired "look"? I would think that the rim width would affect the offset too, the wider the rim, the less the offset (or would it be more)?

A good way to get a feel for what will and wont fit is to use the offset calculator at http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp The stock NB is 10 inches with a 65 offset in the rear and 7.5 or 8 inch with a 50 offset in the front. You will see where to plug those in to see if the new wheel will fit.

I have 997 19" Carrera S wheels (Lobsters) The fronts are 19x8 and the rears are 19x11. The offsets are 57mm front and 67mm rear. Yes they fit NB 996; I am currently running them with 235/35 Fronts and 305/30 Rears with no rubbing. The backs are flush with the fender. I could use a 5mm spacer on the fronts but I don't like spacers.

FLUSH FTW!!! i think you can go +52 on the rears if its 19x10. Jam996 is running 52 front and rear

Try posting in the gt3 forums... they'll give you some nice specs for your NB.

02 996 C2 NB with stock Porsche sport techno's 18 X 11 rear that are the widest stock rims for 02 NB. offset is 63 same as stock 996 GT3 rims- running 295/30-18 -
Understand 997 offsets are slightly different than 996.

There are other variables to factor in. Camber, ride height, tire diameter...
I ran a 11" rim 63et with a 7mm spacer on 295/30/18. No rubbing and fits flush with the wheelwell with -2 camber.

he can go with a more aggressive offset with 19x10's correct? without having to worry about using spacers or rolling fenders
