Powder coat vs. Paint vs. Anything else

Hi all,
I've got a set of GT3 sway bars that need some cosmetic work from being on the track. Just some scratches here and there but I cant bring myself to put ugly parts on the car. While everything is still dismantled its a good time to make them look good...

Anyhow, what have you guys used with good results? I considered just getting them powder coated but there is only one guy near me that does it so he prices accordingly - but I still may do that.. Any good luck with off the shelf products, paints, methods, or coatings on under vehicle parts????

Cool

I think that the only way to get a decent finish on something like a sway bar, is to have it Powdercated. It would be really difficult to paint smoothly due to its shape.

My buddy does PC in N GA....not too far from you and he does great work.

Only reason I didn't have him do my wheels is because everyone says not to bake the hollow pokes.

IMHO ... paint them. Does it really worth it to powdercoat them?

Didnt think of it that way, I like where you're head is at though ... Unfortunatley they're already half prepped for whatever I decide..

Thanks Brando - I was trying to find someone a little closer so I could just drop them off. I'm on the NC coast so I'd have to ship them out. One of the perils of being in out here in the boonies I suppose...

I may just be talking out my a$$, but powder coating is much less flexible than paint, and I would think that for something that flexes all the time, like a sway bar, painting would be preferred..I'd think the PC would flake off easier. Plus they are also hollow, and the heat treatment could affect them.
