2002 with bose - audio upgrade questions

My 2002 has a horrible bose system in it. the highs are non existent and the bass is plentiful and very muddy.

I would like to start by upgrading the speakers...

this is what I gather from reading countless posts on the 3 boards - correct me if I am wrong here:

1. 2002 is the only bose non MOST which means I *CAN* upgrade the speakers without changing the amp (?)

2. OEM set up in the front is a tweeter + small midrange in the dash + a mid sub in the door (?) hoping to use separates here probably by diamond...

3. There is nothing I can do to upgrade the speakers in the sub box - just replace the whole thing

questions I couldn't find the answer to:

1. does the current amp have seperate wiring to the dash and to the doors? if not where does the oem crossover live?

2. whats the pinout on the current amp - for testing purposes.

3. aside from Focal and Diamond - what other speakers can I use in the doors + dash?

thanks!

I had MTX 4" and 5 1/4" speakers in my car...i got a deal on some focals...i got 2 5" focal subs for my doors...waiting to put them in...

i did not use the original amp, i did not want to cut any of the original wiring so i put a seperate amp in for the door and dash speakers....

The amp has 3 sets or 6 seperate wires leaving it for the 6 speaker locations.....again i did not use any original wiring...

If you look at my posts you can see my amp rack and sub..

If you want to me to show/help you with the install PM me...i see you in the NY area...
