Looks like you have the same problem I had right after Thanksgiving last year. I was driving home from work and pile of steam smoke coming from the back of my car when I stop at the light. I got home and look under the car and it was leaking directly under the water pump. At first I thought it was the expansion tank. After some investigating under the car, I realized the the leaking was coming directly at the shaft of the water pump pulley. I brought a waterpump in Ebay for ~$100 and replaced it following the writeup in Renntech.com (http://www.renntech.org/forums/index...howtopic=15737)! When I took the pump out I found one of the blade on the water pump fan broke off(not sure I cause it since I had to wiggle that thing out; it's pretty tight back there). Also when I spin the old pump, it was 3 or 4 time more resistance than the new replacement and it sounded awful. I guess the bearing and seal on the shaft was shoot and coolant was leaking out from there. You do need patients getting the pump out but after that it was pretty striaght forward putting everything back. That was 3500 miles ago and still running great -I think its even pick up some mpg after the change cause I was average 18.6 mpg ...now it's about 20 mpg with mix driving. Good luck!
