An update to this clunking problem.
Finally the noise is gone. The noise came back after replacing washers from pss9.
here what i got.
the following bearing washer from amazon for $35.00
QA1 7888109 Thrust Washer Mount Kit

the swift spring self lubricated washer set.
from
www.swiftsprings.com (had to email them, they call back to take your order)
PART NUMBER
Inner Diameter
044101
60mm (2.25")
544202
65mm (2.50")

Also I noticed that the front top hats are cracked, so we replaced them as well.
The bearing washer sits above the helper spring.
the selft lubricated washer sits below the helper spring.
once all is installed, you can notice how easily the spring turns with hand (car up in the air).
GSR in lake forest did this job for me last week for a very good price. Hour and half of labor + my parts that i purchased.
front noise is gone. Now gonna do the same in the rear. (I believe my rear shock mounts are broken, and you probably don't need to do this in the rear, but it won't hurt.

Good luck guys.

google GSR in Lake forest, CA.
they do amazing work at a great discount. Off of 405 and lake forest.

Why the bearing?
well with the combo of both, I wanted to make sure the darn clunking is gone forever.
here is the info from swiftsprings.com
Thrust Sheets
Increase linear rate on any spring by preventing spring
unwind during compression.

Thrust sheets provide a variety of benefits to coilover systems. As a spring becomes compressed the coils attempt to distribute the energy by unwinding. This is called twisted force. The unwinding makes the spring rate irregular. By allowing the spring to smoothly rotate around the perch during compression, the spring rate will return to normal. Thrust sheets also help dampening and rebound of struts too. Thrust sheet’s bearing action allowing the rotation of a spring allow the load on the spring to be more evenly Distributed which reduces lateral shock shaft load. Increased lateral load on shock shafts cause a reduction in the struts ability to rely on valves for dampening force.

Thrust sheets works with all brand of coilover system & springs as long as inside diameter matches. Each kit comes with 4 composite rings and 4 stainless steel sheets that will cover 2 coilover springs.
