Blowing up motors?

Hey I use shaving gel for sensative skin too!
Haha in case you can't tell I'm not taking this thread that seriously. Arguing on forums is like waking off near a light socket. Sure it's fun for a little while but eventually you just curse yourself for being stupid and wasting your time.
I just made that up... TGIF obviously.

Long before I'd waste money on an aftermarket company (my experience with 3 different ones is that all they do is try to prove it was YOUR fault, and argue claims if they are over $300, I'll NEVER get another one) on a 3.6 996, I'd take the same money & I'd drive it to Jake Raby (and I plan to, when I need a clutch) and pay him to do a new RMS, IMS bearing & clutch, and not worry about a $13k motor replacement again. That's my plan, but then they are only 10 hours from me....I mean, really, besides total motor failure, which is really big bucks, anything else is doable for you, your dealer or good local mechanic..

ok I may be missing the point but there are from what i have read 16.9% of the engines blow up that still means that 83+% stay good. I think one should do maintenance are some mods to IMS, bearings and such and drive on down the road fast.
Worrying about what could happen is not a fun way to live and I thought we bought these cars to live fun and fast

What?! I spent $3k CAD on mine and I got the RMS replaced, IMS updated, and a light weight flywheel ( I supplied the flywheel, another $800) and new clutch installed.
Indy versus dealer maybe...

I was quoted about $1400-1700 to have the IMS and RMS updated/changed. And it looks like this is going to be direction I'm going to go in, it's half the price of a warranty and it takes care of the one problem that everyone seems to have.
I'm also going to do the x51 oil pan upgrade and get the upgrade gasket that offers more oil in the reserve/pan so that there is reduced oil starvation.
From what I'm reading, there is little to nothing else that goes wrong with these cars so I'm not going to worry about it once all of this is done.
