guys... It think you are missing the point. This is a special car... there will be many of us that wont see one or two of these. Its like buying a 964 Turbo S.... you only see it in pictures but very rare you will see one on the road or track.... in 10 years fugedaboutit.

Redridge is right about it being a special car. If you want a faster Porsche they clearly are had for the kind of price this RGT is going for. RUFs are just very rare. In terms of them fetching this price, I dont know if they can but its not like there is much of a market for these things... Definitely one of kind.

By the way, anyone seen the new CTR3 yet?

I think they are 40 thousand over reality.

For the cost of this car, one could buy a TT and tune the hell out of it, paint it whatever color they want, build a custom coilover suspension, and take the back seat out themselves.

And regarding it being rare... those days are over, ruff is a tuning company that is throwing stickers on anything they can get their hands on now that they built up a name. Its not like every car they sell it being built for "European Car" magazines. A ruff wont be worth a penny more than a regular 996 in 10 years.

I agree. This is a 996 not a 993 or 964, it was a MASS produced car and regardless of the tuner it just doesn't carry the same exclusivity. It may be worth slightly more than a regular 996, but not twice as much.

here is a guy who owns a RGT....

http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforum...uf-996gt3.html

My car was a car that was manufactured and imported as a US vehicle. Should be the same as what you are looking at. A vehicle made in Germany for the US market. As far as whether it is worth $105K. It really depends on what you are after.

The RUF cars really are hand built to a different standard than my 04 GT3 or my RS. The RGT looks much better in person than my 04GT3, drives better on the road and is faster around the track. I am not sure how or why it is faster, but it is. My GT3 is able to chase down a lot of high horsepower cars, even on the straights so I do not think the RGT is faster due to the horsepower being down on my GT3. The RS is faster than the RGT at the track.

You would own a vehicle that is one of a very few. Some people say that the RUF should hold up price wise better but that would not be a reason to buy in my opinion. No one really knows whether the market will hold up or not. There is just not enough product to gauge whether someone will want a 2001 RGT for $XXX,XXX.00 in the future.

Would I buy the RGT again, yes I would.
Would I buy the RGTover my 04GT3 (for what I paid for the RGT versus the MSRP of my GT3), Yes. Would I buy the RGT instead of my RS, no.
Would I buy the RGT at a delta of 30 to 40k more than a 04GT3, no.
Would I buy the RGT for 20k less than a 997GT3, yes.
Would I buy the RGT for the same price as a 997GT3 with Euro seats, harnesses, rollbar, suspension set up for the track, etc. Possibly, if the engine in the RGT you are looking at is as strong as the one in my RGT, I would consider it.
Would I pay more right now for the RGT than a 997GT3 with Euro seats, harnesses, rollbar, suspension set up for the track, etc. No.
