how to remove gear ****

Hey guys I just bought a 997 GT3 gear know and boot for my 99C2 and was struggling to get the gear **** off......after a half decent search on the net I couldn't find any info on how the gear **** comes off???

I didn't want to break anything.....the instruction from Carnewal (which is where I got the gear **** from:
http://www.carnewal-europe.com/main.htm
said to just pull it off.....but it felt like there was an allen bolt or something holding it on........anyways......anyone who tries to do this.....just give it a solid pull and it does eventually just slide off.....be carefull though......as it does take a good hefty pull....and in my case.....a wack in the face as it finally pops off!!!....ouch!

Highly recommend the guys from Carnewal.....they emailed me straight back with advice on how to remove the old gear **** and the **** and boot got delivered the day after I ordered it and I live in the UK so all around great service!

The gear **** looks and feels great.......anyone thinking of doing this......if required I will post a pic.

there is no allen bolt, it literally is pulling it off, I had my shift housing out (doing short shifter) and then pretty much played tug of war with my gf trying to get the shift **** off. So ya, pull hard

I understand it may take a lot of force...so don't get your face in the way.
