Talking new member, a few pics and questions!

hey all! new member here...been lurking here for a while...i am a member on rennlist, have a 95 993 c2...and just got a new addition to the garage.

my 993

had a question. check engine light came on the other day. i noticed that when i pump gas, with or without the light on...the car wont start afterwards immediately. Only when i pump gas its like this. ill have to keep cranking the car for about 20 seconds. til it turns on. sound familiar? have to do with the CEL?

Welcome to the SY family!
I would get the codes so you'll know exactly what's going on. Does the engine turn but doesn't start or the key does nothing?

Welcome to 6SO! Congrats on your new addition! Sorry that I am unable to offer any advice on what's going on with the CEL though. =(

Best Wishes!

Is it a GT3 or an Aero badged as such? I'm assuming that's what you removed?

It's a mk1 with the aero Kit.

Congrats, both cars look great. Check both your MAF (Mass Air Flow meter) and the rubber seal around the gas lid itself. I've actually seen cars that throw a cel simply because that ring isn't making a complete seal anymore... You'll find your 996 is much more picky when it comes to its electronics, however water-cooled means you just turn the key and go regardless of those hot Dallas days!

Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Oh my gosh, have you told the aircooled cult on Rennlist about it yet? You will be ostricized for buying a water pumper!

Congrats on it, it's beautiful.
