Question Suncoast 17mm Hub-Centric Spacers w/ Champion Wheels

I purchased a set of 17mm hub-centric spacers from Suncoast (for the front axle) Here they are: http://e-partssales.com/Merchant2/me...Code=POTE996WH

I didn't realize that they won't work as-is with aftermarket Champion RG5 wheels, since there is no room for the original lug nuts to fit in the wheel. Is there any reason why I shouldn't press the bolts out of the spacers and purchase longer lug nuts to secure the spacer & wheels?

I appreciate your input.

My 2 cents. I have a set of Champion RG5 wheels on my 996 and don't use spacers. The offsets were enough that any spacer needed would have been 5mm or less.

Thanks Steve. Good to know another 6speeder with those wheels! I debated whether or not to use spacers. What size tire are you running in the front?

Mine:
Front 235 35 19
Rear 295 30 19

The rear wheels/tire combo is flush with fender. The fronts are not.

I use a 245-35-19 front. At full lock it will rub a bit.

I hate those type of spacers... get FVD or H&R that requires longer bolts.... it reduces unsprung weight.

i had the same problem.. the wheel wouldnt touch the spacer all the way...they were sticking out a lil beacause of the lugs...so i cut into my wheels where they were hitting, and it works fine...

Cool

Agree 100%.

The H&R DR series with the longer lug bolts is the way to go.

If you have RG5's with a NB car you shouldn't need spacers. I can't remember the offsets but I think Champion only made one size for the NB in 19" so we should have the same wheels. I have 245/19's up front and rub a little on full wheel lock like Steve. My next set of tires will be 235's and I think that should be perfect.

Perhaps the issue is I need an alignment. The rear wheel/tire combo is flush with the rear fender. The fronts are inset about an inch.
