PSE cutoff removal in So Cal.
I am thinking of removing the automatic cutoff on the PSE between 30-45 mph. But it's not a job I feel comfortable doing by myself. Is there a shop in So. Cal that can do that or anybody done that willing to spend an afternoon with me.
Thanks,
Peter

I remember reading on one of the boards that the info on renntech is not right for Cabs because it also disables the top mechanism. Anyone here done it on cabs can give me more info?

The valve is plastic and is located on the right side of the compartment. If you do this the PSE will be on all the time. To turn it off you would have to reverse the valve again. It has 1/2" nozzle coming out of the center top and bottom where the vacumn line is attached. Just reverse the vacumn lines. I let it this way for 3 years until I sold my car.

If you modify/disable the vacuum system, the dash switch (if you have one) will not function to turn the PSE to quiet. Not an issue in my mind, since I'd never turn it off...
Here's a pic--not mine--can't remember which site I got it from. The "check valve" is the item referred to above. On my last Carrera ('02) I tried reversing the check valve, but it didn't work, so instead I unplugged the orange plug labeled "from speedometer pickup" and wrapped the white and orange pieces with electrical tape to keep the ends from getting dirty in case I wanted to plug them back together (which I never did).

PSE has an annoying cutoff between 30 to 45 mph where the usually loud muffler sound is muted. this (hopefully) disables that.
I'd like to keep the on/off switch function which I can't find anyone w/ a cab who's done that. So this is the second choice. always on.

But I'll try reversing the other thing, hopefully that'll work.
If anybody has done this on a cab before. PLEASE HELP.

You should be able to unplug the Orange/White assembly which is labelled speedo pickup as this is actually the vacuum solenoid whis is DRIVEN FROM the speedometer signal.
The vacuum soleniod only switches the vacuum lines to the PSE on and off and will not affect cab top operation at all.
