Question about tunings...

First off I am new to the forums and just purchased a 1999 C2 996 Coupe with 38K miles. Runs great and has had all maintenance done so far...

Anyway, I am curios about the tunings for these cars. It is really noticeable or only on the dyno's?

This engine seems to be super efficient as is, so wondering if it is worth the money for a chip or not?

I'm still debating this myself. LOTS of knowledgeable people around here though. I recommend doing a search for this topic since it's been brought up enough (by myself included) that most people are tired of commenting on the subject.
General consensus seems to be: "If you want more power, supercharge it or buy a turbo"..... hasn't stopped me from modding, but it is the most practical advice.

People that do the mods swear by them, but most of the rest have doubts anything can be done to increase HP and torque short of a SC. I'd spend money (if I had it) on suspension and more money (if I had it) on learning to drive the car.

My boss who owns a Formula Ford and has been racing since he was a kid told me my car doesn't need to be any faster, I just need to learn how to get the most out of it. I expect he's right.

I would agree 100% Save your money for tires and learn how to drive it.
Do you really think porsche didn't give all the reliable power it could?? If you need more power you should have bought a turbo.

Have fun and enjoy it.

Yeah i was thinking the same thing. Who pays $900 for a 12 HP increase somewhere in the rpm range...not me....

I agree driving a car fast sometimes has little to do with the cars power...
