The oil can push the door "in" so the oil gets back to the pump pickup, the doors can't swing out during lateral acceleration because they have stop framing, so the oil can't "run" away from the pickup causing oil starvation, and accumalation in the cam boxes. isn't this what the X-51 pan does? the pan has trap doors all around that swing open only to let oil in and not out... are we talking about the same thing?

IS the X51 oil pump still available? The pump and the oil line for the conversion? There are some posts but the pumps were hard to find. There is a company in Germany that makes one as well, but it is 1000Euro's so really expensive as well....

I guess if you wanted to race the car, the oil pump conversion with the pan would be the better way to go...

I guess I was a bit confused by all the information about the oil system issues of the 996 engine. In one of my previous posts I was asking about oil ingestion(which I guess is caused by the oil separating baffle), which causes the engines to smoke at the track under hard cornering, and in some cases actually has the potential to hydo-lock an engine. I guess there is a Porsche racing separator that can be fitted to help with this smoking issue. This is a separate issue to the oil starvation and oil pan discussion. Sorry if I sounded confused...I actually was
