When I was younger, my dad bought a brand new MB S class and eventually we had to fill it up with gas again and for some reason he filled it with 87 instead of 91/93....well, the car stalled two blocks from the gas station. When the car was towed to the dealership, the service guy told us we must use 91 and Chevrons got the best.D So now I will go out of my way to find a Chevron gas station.

Chevron has Techron in it, which is a very excellent and patented additive that cleans your injectors and removes water from the fuel. You can buy a tankfull of Techron Additive (about 16 ounces) for about the same $4.00 difference between cheap 87 and good 93 octane. I think at a silly $.03 a gallon difference between cheapo 93 and Chevron 93, it is worth it all day long to go as good as you can get. Your Porsche comes with Mobile1 oil, and Chevron gas is the recommended fuel. I remember when it was Shell gas. And before that it was Exxon gas and Castrol oil.
Fuel selection, oil selection, and tires... The Porsche factory has already TOLD you which one to use to get the best performance out of your car. And they update their recommendations based on constant testing.
91 on the pump rating sticker is fine for your Porsche. Your altitude above sea level may determine your available octane rating for premium. The higher the average altitude, the lower the required octane rating to achieve the same level of antiknock protection. If you live at Sea Level in California and you can still only find 91, well, that is a "local" issue you need to fix at the polls, not the pump.
Mark

Just my opinion. I could be wrong.

Premium from either Chevron/Techron or Shell/V-Power

and... if I had a leased car I would take care of it as well as if I had bought it, and... I will have serious concerns buying a car out of lease given the alleged dishonesty of some lessees.
