It's actually a legitimate question. It's been 30 years since I had access to a CB but back then the CB culture was in full swing. (I have no idea what you'd find out there now on the open road.) I know this much, my Valentine1 has saved my butt many times but it's no defense for the patrolman who employs "instant on." I'll never forget my V1 going off full tilt while driving CA Hwy 395 near Mammoth. By hen it was too late. I was his only target. Might have been different had a 'friend' shared "Smokey in the bush, mile marker..." When the officer handed me my ticket I asked if he did 'instant on' me. He proudly replied.. "Ohhhh Yeah!!" CB's are still very popular with the truck crowds. Most of the gumball rally people used them too. They still work better than any radar detector on the market when used properly. The problem now a days is the amplifiers. There is alway some jerk that has a hugh amp and wants to tell everyone his life story or solution to the worlds problems. Since he has more power no one can talk over them for several miles. There use to be a guy in the panhandle of FL that could be heard for over 30 miles. Normal range ~5 miles.
I use to love the stories at night about the beaver patrol.
So catch you on the filp side good buddy.
