Calm down! Just a joke referencing that Christmas Story movie. I found it funny how they described the shocks as race use only but then go on to talk about comfort settings.

I love the front end look...looks terrific.....I also have a 2000 996 and want to change the front bumper but worry about the effect on unbalancing the aerodynamics at high speeds ie 100 plus.....any issues with that?

Hmmm it might just be me but I think the fibre glass kits never look quite right.....hey don't get me wrong your car looks great so fair play.....but doesn't look 100%
To the guy who asked the question earlier do the 997 oe fenders bolt straight on......the answer is a big fat no!
I'm in the middle of converting my front end to a 997 gt3 but i'm using all original porsche parts.......it's a lot more work......and whilst it is a lot of work it is do able......lots of people said it is a nightmare and shouldn't be done....now i'm half way through....it's not that bad....you just have to be brave....as it involves chopping and cutting to get the fenders to sit right and don't even get me started on what you have to do to get the door line to match up......infact i will post a pic at some point of a 997 fender sitting on my 996 and you will all see how far out the door line is.
Well I will post pics of mine when it's done and hopefully it will be worth all the extra money and work over a fibre glass kit that bolts straight on.
by the way it looks like you fit the 997 hood......for all you who have never picked one up....you won't believe the difference in weight between the 996 hood and the 997 hood....it's crazy!!!
PS - now you've done your conversion.....do you think it makes the rear of your car look narrow due to the 997 fenders being more flared?
I'm toying with the idea of putting c4s rear quarters on mine???

I've posted some pics of why a 997 fender will not bolts straight on and what you need to do to get the fender to lay correctly on the inner fender top panel.
Once you get the fender to sit correctly you will see in one of the pics the door and lower sill line is a country mile off!
To get the door and sill line to fit correctly is a lot easier than you might think ;-)

The list goes on and on, if you catch what I am saying. But I am not saying it cant be done, its just a ton more work. I would just buy a used early year 997 at that point.

No problems with aerodynamics at high speeds. The car still feels solid.
