i have a 2002 carrera 2 and ive just had new highflow manifolds, rear boxes put on and while its being done im now thinking shall i take the cats out? heard you get alot more power? they will take out cats and make up a bolt in and out bit of pipe which i can put in if i dont like it or want to put it back very easy

anyone done this? any pros and cons??

pros : a very little hp gain (U don't really feel it, but it adds up to the rest of the mods), sound increase
cons : Check Engine Light, some might not like the loud obnoxious sound

Take a look at 200 cell cats, no CEL, little hp gain and nice sound!

 

+1 on the hi-flow cats. Check out the X-pipe version that Fabspeed just started selling. Direct bolt ons.

 

Another pro is the weight savings. This is probably worth more in real performance than whatever the HP gain may be.
