D2S/H7 aftermarket replacement bulbs
Do any of our resident gurus have any insight into best brands of legal replacement bulbs available from a good USA-based online retailer? GE, Philips, Sylvania, PIAA? Are there any online comparison tests?
My outside ambient temps are 90-110'F, is there any danger that a higher lumens bulb will melt/discolour the lens housing or fry the wiring?
PS: I am looking more for more practical downroad and sideroad illumination versus the fashionable >6000k blue/purple aesthetics. Thanks in advance!

About 7 months ago one of my low beams burned out so I replaced both low beam bulbs with Sylvania's Silverstar Ultra H7Su2's. I'm vary pleased with their additional light output and the fact that they're noticably whiter than stock.

I purchased a 2-bulb package from AutoZone for about $40, but since then I've seen them advertised for less. It took about an hour to remove both headlight assemblies, r&r the low beam bulbs, and re-install the assemblies.
I had recently installed PSS9's and lowered my 2000 C4 about 3/4" so I needed to re-aimed the headlights, too.

My lowbeam xenon's are fading, so I bought some Philips Ultinons 6000K (DS2) from Cda and await arrival, hopefully the OEM ballasts can handle - has anyone had probs with this upgrade?
For High beams Halogens (H7) I am still considering options...Philips X-treme Power (3400k) or Sylvania Silverstar Ultras (4100k) seem to get favourable reviews...also looking at PIAA Xtreme White Plus (4000k)...just wondering if there are any other name-brand bulbs worthy of consideration.
Thanks!
