My 99 C2 VF supercharged dyno #'s are in

nice!! did you do internal work to the engine to handle more boost?? i wouldnt mind more hp!!! how much was the smaller pully? also what did you have to do to make it work right?

Wow, this was a busy thread. I'm surprised I missed this one.
Do the 3.4's make that much less power than a 3.6? I've consistently made well over 400rwhp on several different dynos. The one I use more frequently I maxed out at around 435 when I had the headers on the car. My base line dyno was approximately 275 before the supercharger install (only mod at the time was mufflers).
I have a wide band AF and boost sensor (Zeitronix). I typically run around 5psi at redline (depending on the weather) and my AF is normally well into the 10's at WOT throttle.
I know there is probably more HP on the table with a smaller pulley and better tune, but I'm not looking to grenade my engine. I've been getting into the DE thing over the past couple years. I think running more power than what I have now on the track for repeated 25-30 min sessions would be asking for trouble.

What do you mean by "depending on the weather" for the amount of boost you get? Boost is absolute, based on engine speed. Also, there is no way you are running an air fuel ratio of 10:1 and getting much power out of the engine. You would most likely be blowing black smoke out of your tailpipes and the engine would be popping out the exhaust on deceleration.
From what point are you measuring boost? What are your O2 sensor voltage readings at WOT near redline?

I don't know where they are measuring the boost from.
My wideband sensor and the dyno AF sensor generally read almost identically. Idles at 14 and then gradually goes into 10's at WOT near redline. I don't know what the 02 voltage readings are. I have logs around here somewhere, but haven't done any logging recently.

When it's really hot out, I see 4.2-4.4. When its really cold out, I see high 5's. Average is 5.0.

But your boost should never change,I would think!
At least mine never did.....

If, in fact, you were running a 10:1 air/fuel ratio at WOT, the dyno would never show anywhere near 400 rwhp. You would be back down in the lower 300 area. Additionally, you would be throwing codes each and every day. Readings are dependent, not only on the accuracy of the sensors, but where they are installed. Your factory O2 sensor readings will give you a better feel for what ratio you are running.

Hey Jason,
I know he is a very busy guy BUT if you are lucky enough that he can....TRUST me,he knows his SH$T!
I do think your car is running as good as it can making the boost (4PSI) that you are so really there is nothing to really look at....JUST enjoy it!
Stacy
PS FWIW 1999 is UPPING his boost a WHOLE bunch soon.........but this is NOT for be for the weak of heart,LOL!
I swear he REALLY does want to push this car until it BLOWS up,LOL!!!!
Do a search and you will find a ton of posts by 1999 and he has always said,That he is trying to blow it up!.....and with something other than the 0-40W water that Porsche suggest we use for oil,LOL!!!(his words)
I gotta say I have gotten to know 1999 well over the last few months and as much as he thinks I am nutz,I think he is Nuttier!
But I have to say....I have followed EVERYTHING he has told me to do....and it has worked out amazing for me.......and if my charger doesn't sell,I too am going to push the boost upwards some more too!
Does anyone really know the breaking points of these motors or are people just guessing?!
