I tink it looks really nice, granted i have not seen it in person. So what do we all think of it? Does it fit the style and look of a non face lift c2? Discuss. -Rob

I dont think it looks right, but it is much better than the similar alternatives that I have seen.

I havent seen many good looking alterntives for the MK1... If you are going through the expense to upgrade for looks, why not upgrade to the MKII front end? There are enough salvage yards to get fenders and all cheap now and you are painting anyway...

No. ( Disclaimer: If you paint headlights to resemble 997's, the it might go... )

The lip looks wrong and the grill isn't right. I think with the way the MKI headlights dip below the grill this application just looks too busy and big. I agree the MKI aero is the best.

John Romano is infamous around these parts
I'm not a big fan of putting late model parts - or adaptations of modern parts - on older cars. The lines are never right unless you use the car as a foundation to build a totally updated model, i.e., 996 to 997 face lift, or a total rebuild such as this car built on an 02:

Unless you're going to completely update the car's exterior, mods - in most cases - should be period correct.

I have seen that 997 bumper on a 99 996. It does not look right. I agree with the other posts. If you want to, do the 997 complete look with new round headlights, which, IMHO looks the best. Otherwise, do a 02+ upgrade with headlights.

It looks good overall, its just a tad "heavy" looking in relation to the bodylines of the 996. Almost as if the car has a swollen jaw.

Not devastatingly so, but its sort there in the background nagging at me!
