"Creaky" Clutch Pedal

I have a 99 C2 that has been performing flawlessly since I bought it in April this year.
One thing that bothers me, however, is when I depress the clutch pedal there ia a creaking sound every time. Is this something that can be lubed with the linkage? Or is this more complex and has to do with the clutch itself?
Thanks for any suggestions!
Gregg

diversed is infamous around these parts
I'm also interested to hear from others on this subject.

I too have a 99 C2 and have the exact same "creak".
It's something I've gotten used to in a car that has been otherwise flawless.

I had a creaky clutch on my '02 996. Service manager fixed it with no problem, although I am not sure what he did. I believe grease was in order.

This is a standard issue on all 996's. It's due to a lack of grease (and a design that's probably not optimal). It doesn't really harm the pedal, it's just annoying. Stick a little grease on it and it'll go away.

I wouldn't use WD40! That type of mechanical joint needs grease, not a light oil like WD40. That will just cut the grease that's on there now and dissolve it off. Use a standard bearing grease or something heavy like that.

Hey it worked for me, it's not like we're talking about a wheel bearing here.
