Misha gt2m downforce

Misha gt2m downforce
I did some searches didn't really find what I was looking for... I've got a 2004 996 c4s and will be putting on the misha gt2m wing pretty soon. Not sure if the wing will throw the car out of balance at higher speed and corners? Do I need to change my front lip/bumper to balance the car out? Or does the wing provide downforce for both front and back and nothing is required just like the OEM one that does it for both (front and back). Input would be much appreciated... If anyone has any real figures on the down force this wing provides both front and back would be great...

Yes, it's a generally accepted practice that when you add a larger wing you also modify the front to reduce lift. I could be wrong but I don't believe any rear wing adds downforce to the front.

The down force or lift of any wing, airplane or car, will be applied at the geometric center of the wing. If that center is aft of the rear wheels, the result will be a rotation about the rear axles. This will push the rear end down and lift the front. It is imperative that the aerodynamic forces be balanced in speeds above 75-80 mph. The higher the speed, the more crucial the loading becomes. The forces in play here go with the square of the velocity and can add quickly with a large wing and high speeds.

"But you should be okay unless you are driving 120+mph"
agreed. i didn't notice any obvious difference after adding that wing (02c2). nor did i notice a difference after adding the gt3 splitter after that either (cheap alternative you should consider). should be noted i have not exceeded speeds over 120 on the track or.. ah hemm.. the street. i have never felt the front end "float" with any of the configurations. (stock, gt2m wing, gt2m wing plus gt3 splitter)
my guess is it would make a noticeable difference (with the stock front end) when you get up to 130-140+ and a very noticeable difference at 150+. if you're keeping it under 120, i wouldn't worry about it at all imo. especially with the added weight you have up front with the c4s.
oh and post pix after the install for us!!

I've got the cup splitter attached to a stock front bumper and GT2M wing, feels very planted at 130-140 around the Ring and 175 on the (German) roads...

FWIW
On my car (2001 C4) with the gt2 style wing and no aero up front I did not like the feeling at about 80+... was too soft feeling on the steering. Not dangerous at all, but not how a p-car should feel.
Maybe it is not as noticeable on the 02+ cars?

actually it is all in reference to the CG, not the axles
