Decided to skip the orange cap and modify the airbox....

Where did you get the part and do you have the receipt for the sku. I am still looking for a Poly Plug in 2" locally. In a worst case I'll order some online. Right now I'm good with the "cup" I'm using, but would love to make a "kit" for this so we can share the wealth.
BTW, I do think you get some change in throttle response like fabspeed suggests by removing the internal muffler and allowing more air to flow through the airfilter. I don't think much but it did seem a bit noticable yesterday on my first long drive.

btw I tried using the next bigger Niagra orange plug and it just wasn't big enough for the sealing. The bigger size fit great in the hose but not in the hole where the muffler is. BTW I do notice a nice sound as well as a bit better throttle response with the muffler out, I put it back to stock until I get the new bigger plug for the muffler-.

I would not use the niagra plug for a complete replacement it's not rigid enough to be clamped down. It is good for the orange cap trick where it is held in place by the hose and the existing muffler.
Try the 1 1/4" pvc lig, just make sure it has a lip or you can epoxy a lip to it with PCV glue so that it stays in place.
