Installed My Mischa CF Wing Today
Guys,
I am taking a couple of weeks off to play with my cars and I installed my new CF wing today. Yea... it took me all day. I think a blind elephant could have done it faster. He would have much more dexterity. Now I can fit everything before it goes in for paint and it looks great.
Off course I took it for a spin up the road and had to tag it just to see if the wing would come off.
Two issues surfaced, First the wing failure light came on and I know others have had this problem in the past (but I was unable to find the thread) Anyone have a quick fix?
Second, now that I have some leverage to check the rear deak hood for play I noticed that it has some movement. Not that this is a track car but if the front wing on a formula car moved even this much they would go into the wall.
Any thoughts on how I can tighten this up? It does not look like I can do anything at the hinges but possibly at the lock and tighten up the stops.
Tomorrow I get to tackle the Techart Body kit and my modular carbon fiber wheels are supposed to show up next week.
The rears are 12 X 19 and my thoughts are to go with a set of 325's (I have 315'S now) and can fit another 10 MM's without rubbing. Quality of tire is first but I am also looking for a very aggressive tread pattern, Any suggestions?
Back in the day my brother ran a set of 20" wide Firestone dry racing tires on his '68 Z28 and the look was spectactular. Obviously the ticket that you would get for this is probably 100 times what you paid back then but, I always felt that a great set of tires really makes the car.
Thanks for your help!

Matt,
Where did you get yours at?
I went to Porsche in AZ and they wanted $187.00 and it had to be shipped fron Atlanta. So then I went to Porsche of Newport Beach and the parts guy told me to bring in the car and they just reprogram the computer.
After that I was completely confused.
Thanks,
Anthony AKA PB

The local Rusnak dealership had one in stock. The first dealer I called had to order it but gave the me the price of $123.00. He checked to see who had it in stock and Rusnak did. When I went to the parts dept., they tried to charge me $180 but I told them the quote I got from the first dealer was $123. They matched it and I was able to pick up in person...

Great wings never had any issues with mine, I think they offer 2 different harness called the GT3 Wing bypass harness. The first w/o brake light is part #996 612 070 51 About $60. The second one is part# 996 612 070 04 with a brake light connection over $100 for this one.

Guys,
Just to follow up on the wiring harness issue, I went through Sunset Imports and the part number 996-612-070-51 did the trick for $88.92 plus $7.00 shipping.
Thanks for all of your help on this one!
