+1 on the Sumis. I have almost 7k on mine too. Here in Houston we don't see a lot of cold temps although this Thursday and Friday it is suppose to be below freezing until Saturday. I will let you know how it goes. Mine is a daily driver. About 8-10 miles to work each day. My Sumis replaced P Zeros too. So far the are less noisy and have the same grip. No tracking for me either. Although a have done a few PCA "parade" laps and the sumis did just fine.
I will buy them again as long as the pricing stay about the same.

+1 on the Hankook Ventus Evo12. I just put them on my car and they feel great and you can not beat the price. rear 305/30/19 front 235/35/19 installed came to less than $800.

On my second set of HTRZ III's. I used them on The track and street and have been very pleased. If you are planning on tracking the car allot they perform quite well and you don't feel so bad leaving them on the track. Terrible in the snow fine in the rain.

I got my set from Tire Rack. 235/35-19 was $158 each. 275/30-19 was at $184 each. Total $684 total for the tires (plus shipping) installed & balanced on my new set of wheels. It is a great deal. I was picking between this and the Sumi that most on this thread had recommended, but decided to try the Hankooks to see for myself why this is very highly rated.

When I bought my C2 it had 225/40 and 285/30 sumitomo HTR tires on it. I have driven several other tires and cannot recommend them for getting good times on a track. They did seem to wear alright and are dirt cheap. They are horrible if it is below 60F and wet. Actually, I think they are horrible if it is just wet, but a cool evening with water is a nightmare in them compared to other tires out there.

+1 on the sumi htrz3. like them better than the kumho ecsta spt's. better looking sidewall and very grippy. can't say i have experienced any of the negatives noted in this thread. i'm loving them after 1k mi.

less than half the price of mpsc and last twice as long. do the math.
if two seconds a lap is worth thousands of dollars over a few years then do what makes you happy.

I to have 19's and would love to see a pic of 305/30's on the back. Any rubbing at all, is your car lowered? I'm running ROW M030.

I don't think the michelin PS2 tires are a good buy either as they cost way too much for the performance that is delivered. My next tire choice for summer will probably be the Yokohama Advan AD08 with a 235/40 r18 front and 295/30 r18 rear. I'll take my 2 seconds a lap over the sumitomos.

The HTRs aren't that great. The HTRZ IIIs are a lot better than those.

They were the HTR ZII. Maybe a miracle happened for the newest version while not adversely affecting the price...

+1, although I haven't taken them out in the snow.

The P Zero's were good, but for all year use in my area which has lots of rain in winter but rarely snows or gets too cold, I prefer the Bridgestone Potenza Pole Position. Also an A/S tire, but with good treadware numbers and AA traction in the wet.

for sure check with Damon at TireRack.
