Savannah beige/black rear center console

I want to break up the beige. There is so much beige. I think I'm going to replace the rear center console with a black one. Anyone done this/have any pics? Opinions welcome!

It will look great as long as you have a black car. If not go with Alumalook or match the exterior color.

I want to do the same

not sure if aluminum or white for the center console, white matches the exterior color... my car is just to much blue on the inside. Any idea who sells console and parts for them at a good price?

Yes- my car is black. Should've mentioned it.

I was able to buy one off eBay today for $41 (plus shipping) but I think that was a good deal. Look around for people who are converting their cars to race. The good thing is, Boxster 986es and 996es use the same rear center console.

Seems to me black would work for you too. You already have black trim around the cluster, center console, etc. If you did alumilook you would probably want some other alumilook accents in there too in my opinion.

euromotorspeed at ebay sells console parts at a good price. he also sells aluminum-look (custom-painted) dash and console pieces. i am actually adding more aluminum-look in my dash and console to break up the all-black and complement the few aluminum-look pieces that were installed at the factory. euromotorspeed had custom-painted some stuff for me which some are in transit to my location. yes, he is the same guy that sells the double-din conversion kit.

however, to the OP, if you would like a black center console, either as it is or for painting, i have my old one in good condition and can offer it to you cheap.

Any time you can replace a soft touch painted part with a painted or carbon fiber part, it is a plus. I hate the look at it them and they are scratched POS's that Porsche put all over the interior of the 996 especially in the lighter colors. My goal is to replace every single one of them and only have a few to go.

I also have a black car with the Savannah Beige interior. I went ahead and purchased a yard of the carbon fiber material that 6speed member Brando installed in his car last year. I wrapped the the rear console lid, the piece behind it as well as the removable side pieces. I also wrapped the sides pieces below the shifter, the batwing and the side pieces that mate next to the batwing. Additionally, I wrapped the armrest on both doors along with the handle. As you mentioned, since there is black trim throughout the car, I think adding additional black accents really breaks up the monotony of the Savannah Beige. By the way I also have black floormats, and I just puchased a used set of porsche neopreme seat covers, just to see what that would look like. I put the seat covers on yesterday, and I think I like the look of black seats in the car.

I think the black console will add some great contrast.

That grey interior's tough. You could always go black. What color floor mats?

I can safely say silver center console, in my opinion. Silver pretty much accents gray as both can blend pretty well as well as provide some form of contrast.
