Jason, I showed Tony what you did and although he liked it, he wants to integrate a full light with a plastic/glass covering (similar to the 997 turbo turn signals). We are working on something and may have found a good alternative.

the lens is really not needed imo... i drive my car in the winter with salt flying everywhere and i haven't had any problem yets

 

Jason, yeah the individual LED's really hold up well. We just think it gives it a more OEM look with the lens

Hello all,

I have been working as a techie for almost 30 years.

I see leds every day all over the place, and have for a long long time.

Never gave much thought to using a led as a light source.

Rather, leds are the indicator of the status of a component. Usually red or green and it is really only a switch (a diode), as are most other electronic devices, as well.

But this use of leds has changed. And my prediction is that someday (soon too) these leds will be used as a primary light source in our homes. I have found them at Ace hardware for $10.00 each and therefore only have 9 led lights for use in my home.

Likewise, I am slowly converting my two vehicles to leds.

But, they r expensive $$$.

I can't learn too much about the various application of the light emmitting diode.

You need to throw some LI lidar jammers in there and then you would have a big seller.

 

It is sick! I remember Sid had a thread on it with pics and details. A very costly mod though but, come to think of it, it can be very worth it.
