My care displayed a check engine light last week, which I just read with a code scanner. The code comes up as P0153 which appears to be the Oxygen Sensor Bank 2..is this the pre cat O2 sensor?

Has anyone else had this code pop up before?

 

How many miles on the car? I had the cel come on for oxy sensors and cleared them and ran a new tank of gas through with some techron and cleaned the maf. Figured I would do this before I brought a new sensor and to be honest the code never came back. Worth a try

 

The car has about 90k on it. A new engine was installed about 5k ago..but I don't know if these are the original O2 sensors.

 

9ok could be time for that sensor to be replaced but I would reset the code first and you also could swap it out for the other bank and see if it moves. Did you fill up with gas recently at a unfamiliar place,? try clean the maf and run some techron through the system. Id take it on the freeway and let it warm right up, might just be contaminated.
