New kid on the block

Hi all...I've been lurking on this forum for awhile now and decided what the heck and join in the fun. Thanks to this site..I did alot of DYI which save me alot of $$$..There are so much valuable info here..

My car is a '00 C2 with the Mk1 aero kit. I bought it 3 years ago w/35k miles on the clock. I never stop smiling since..It was bought site unseen with no PPO...I've heard so many issue about RMS & IMS problems but that didn't deterred me from buying it. (knocking on wood) When it happen..I'll just deal with it. Only problem I have is the coolant tank leak from time to time..I replaced the cap & that stop the leaking for awhile but eventually I will need to replace the tank.

A few mod that I did...smoke side marker, amberectomy, ap exhaust, schnell CAI w/BMC filter, dual exhaust tips., replica wheels..painted bumperetts..roof spoiler.

here's a few pic of my baby..
ps..ok go easy on my S badge..I know they don't make Carrera S for '00 model..but i like it.

Welcome. Love the aero. I have a similar setup. That paint looks incredible for an '00. Is it black or a deep blue? Either way it looks great. Those dark colors are fun to keep up with aren't they.

Welcome. Car looks great. I know what you mean about cleaning dark cars as I have three black cars but nothing looks nicer when polished & waxed.

A couple of things that I have found to help keep my black looking nice is:

1. California duster - I use it everyday before driving to work to get the dust off. It is amazing how much builds up in just one day. It takes me less than 2 minutes to dust the car with this thing.

2. Quick detailer spray (I use Mequiars) - I use this once or twice a week or after it rains to get the spots off. This cleans things up a little more and gives a nice shine. This takes about 10-15 minutes if the car hasn't gotten too dirty.

3. Wipe the wheels down every couple of days to get off the brake dust. Takes about 5 minutes if they aren't too bad.

I've found by doing these few things, I avoid the weekly 1-2 hour wash which, when it is 30 degrees out, is a pain in the rear. Plus I dont drive around in a dirty car. It stays 95% clean most of the time and looks great.
