Can Porsche Stability Management (PSM) be adjusted or upgraded?

I am wondering if PSM is a module that can be adjusted or upgraded so as to offer varying levels of intervention or completely turn it off.

I understand how PSM operates. This is a good article if you need a thorough review. https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ity+Management

What I am asking if it is possible to modify the "box" that controls these functions. Tuners reprogram ECU's all the time, I wonder if anyone has cracked the code on how to adjust PSM?

The new 997 S Sport Chrono is a significantly upgraded package over the 996 offering better ABS and wider variances of slip angle. It offers more control but still intervenes under "hard" braking and when one at least one front wheel requires ABS.

Is it possible to adjust these settings so as to allow 996 owners similar functionality as the 997 or perhaps even custom programs?

If you have comments or thoughts on PSM I would appreciate them as well. I have recently found myself exceeding the limits of PSM and have been switching it off for a more enjoyable ride.

Please let us know if any of you have ever had non-track experience when PSM engaged automatically AFTER you had turned it off.

It's not as simple as flashing a new ECU, but I think it is possible. IIRC, Chad has been looking into it, as well as a few others.
