02 Targa Sell or Trade In
I am thinking of purchasing a 04 c4 was was wondering if it is better to trade my 02 Targa into the dealer or try and sell private party???
I live in LA area and would take any recommendations on where the best place to sell via Private Party?

Sell.....you can try a trade, but you will get wholesale value of the car on trade in. Rarely will they give you what the car is worth. If you get 45K from a dealer you are lucky. 59K is what you may get from a private party. These are rough figures, but there is about a 15k difference. If it's worth it to you not to deal with selling privately then do it....

Like newport996 said, what's it worth to you. Are you willing to show the car on weekends and have people come over to your house, then dealing with all that crap? Try the ‘for sale’ section here, or craigslist, or ebay. Dealer has no love for you, they will try to screw you. If you set a reasonable price, it should sell on ebay. Good luck.

If you want good money, sell it yourself. If you don't have time or don't want to spend a hour here and there showing the car and closing the deal, trade it.
My advice is to get a trade appraisal. Sell it yourself for a few weeks first. Remember to wash the car before showing it and take lots of good pics esp if you are putting it on ebay.

How many miles does your car have? options? these things will effect resale price.
What Trekkyy got for his sounds about right. You will always get less trading it in, but trading it will eliminate a lot of the problems of selling it yourself, as the others have said.
Also it depends on which model you want, the options it has, and how long the dealer has had it on his lot, these things will effect how much he is willing to deal
Good luck.
